An occupational and certified hand therapist by day and artist/crafter by "rest of the time," I have been creating things since I was about 5 years old. My grandmother used to try to keep me out of trouble, prevent me from running after the dog, who was chasing the Bulls behind the farmhouse. Well, since I did get in trouble with my uncle for doing just that, the tone was set. She set about distracting me, dissolving my tears, by teaching me to make a dollhouse from a shoebox. That was the beginning of my love affair with creating. As a teen I made my own clothes from age 11, and mom and I made aprons she sewed, I painted Christmas scenes with tube paints, then sold door to door to make my Christmas money.
